A Day to Celebrate

Hannah and James were baptized, yesterday. My camera doesn't take very good pictures when the room is not well lit, so needless to say, I didn't get great pics. But the day was special anyway. Hannah and James were the last to be baptized since they were siblings. After each person was baptized the pastor asked if someone would say a prayer for them. Jeff's dad said a prayer for Hannah. But then the sweetest thing happened when it was time for someone to pray for James. Out of all the people in the church, his best friend jumped up so he could say the prayer for James. I was so impressed because you could tell he was just waiting for the preacher to ask so he could stand up before anybody else got a chance. I don't know a word he said, but I cried at the sweetness of the moment. He didn't care one bit that the whole church was watching and that adults had prayed for everyone else. I am so glad that God has put such a sweet, courageous little boy in James' life to be his friend.

The church gave the kids a new Bible and a Certificate of Baptism. James decided he was going to keep his together, so he would always remember that this was the Bible he got for being baptized. (For my LifeWay friends they both were HCSB)

Then we went to eat after church. We let the kids decide with one rule, "No, resturants with a drive thru." So they picked the Famous Chinese Buffet. Not my favorite, but theirs so oh, well. Hannah discovered a new talent with the bouncey balls she got from the quarter machines.
