Mister Sensitivity

One of Hannah's guinea pigs died yesterday. James found it and wanted to bury him in my flower bed without placing him in a bag so that he could be a "decomposer" and provide nutrients for the soil. Seems that has been in their science lessons. Then he wanted to be the one to tell Hannah.

So when we got home from gymnastics, I heard him tell Hannah to follow him to the garage (where the guinea pig cage is). She was a little skeptical, but he said he wanted to show her something. Now, I knew it really was not a good thing to let him tell her, but I didn't really think it would go down the way it did. Here's the conversation.

J: Do you notice something different about the guinea pig cage?
H: What?
J: Look at the cage and see what's different.
H: Where's Furry?
J: He's DEAD!!

At this Hannah collapases into tears and I have to pretend that I am feel bad that we have one less guinea pig. I am just glad he didn't tell her that her guinea pig was now a decomposer suppling nutrients to my flowers.

Poor Furry, poor Hannah,At least you can say furry has a new life in the fact that he is beauty in the flowers.
I sure James has probably told her by now, just like a boy!
