I had a request to explain the wall treatment, I posted pictures of earlier. Well, first make sure it's what you want when you do it, because if you use liquid nails, it ain't coming down: ) I decided to do it because I didn't want to replace the wall around the tub.
First, you get metal flashing that is used on roofs. It comes in a 10-inch wide roll. Then you cut squares 10x11. They need to be 10x11 to overlap. You cut the flashing with tin snips. Put the straight edge (the one you didn't cut) against the ceiling and secure with liquid nails to the wall. Take a second square and place it below the first one. Overlap the uneven edge of square number 1 with the even edge of square number 2. Then you go on in that fashion.
Here's the web site where I found the instructions www.jonathanfongstyle.com. I'll add it to my links.
One thing I did different was to put the liquid nails on the wall, then put the square on top. He said put the liquid nails on the square first. It was less messy my way. Also, if the liquid nails gets on the flashing, you can clean it off with mineral spirits.
