Reader's Digest Version

Since many do not know the story and want to know, but are afraid to ask, I'll give you the short Reader's Digest version. (after I finish that long run on sentence) Nine years ago we started on what we presumed would be a short journey. We started the process to adopt a child from Mexico. We went with a private attorney and let's just say that didn't work out too well. Hannah's birthmother, Jeff, and myself spent a night in a hotel room during which time she repeatedly told us she wanted us to adopt Hannah. She said she couldn't take her home because her family didn't know about her. The judge wouldn't sign the resolution because a man who claimed to be the birthfather called and said he wanted to claim his rights. The birthmother said he wasn't the father and that she would straighten everything out. After a month, we returned to Mexico to go to court. The judge said he was waiting on paperwork. We got a Humanitarian Parole to bring Hannah home to await the resolution. Three times in the last nine years we have been told Hannah would have to go back to her birthmother. But because her birthmother will not return to court when summoned, she has been allowed to stay. However no one wants to be the one to sign the resolution. So here we are today, with no idea where to get help. We have been interviewed my FOX News in LA several times and each time they say they will help, but it doesn't work. We had a second lawyer, who we no longer hear from. The USA government says they don't get involved in foreign affairs (that would explain why we're in Iraq) So what's a mom to do? I just keep praying God will lead us out of this mess soon and I keep taking care of Hannah like any mom would.
